Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto Pokemon League Collection Challenge Guide

Friday, February 19th, 2021 1:09 pm

It's inspired by the original Pokemon video games!

The Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto event is finally here in Pokemon Go! This special event will take place from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. local time on February 20 (meaning it’s already kicked off in certain areas around the world).

The Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto event will give trainers the opportunity to encounter Pokemon from the Kanto region (Gen I of the Pokemon universe) in the wild, in Raids, and much more. (To learn more, check out our previous coverage).

While all players will be able to participate in some of this event’s festivities, the majority of the event’s features are only available to those who purchase a ticket (our guide will show you how to buy one).

For instance, ticket holders for this event will be able to complete 10 different Collection Challenges that ask them to collect specific Pokemon in a limited amount of time. Half of these Challenges are inspired by areas from the first Pokemon video games (like the Pallet Town and Fuchsia City challenges), while the others are focused on the ways players can collect the Pokemon required for those Challenges (like the Raid challenge, for instance).

While the Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto event will technically only last one day (February 20), players that purchase a ticket will be able to complete these Collection Challenges until February 28 at 7:59 p.m. local time.

Here’s everything you need to know to complete the Pokemon League Collection Challenge!

According to Serebii.net, the Pokemon League Collection Challenge asks players to collect the following Pokemon:

  • Machop
  • Slowpoke
  • Doduo
  • Seel
  • Hitmonlee
  • Hitmonchan
  • Jynx
  • Eevee
  • Porygon
  • Dratini

On Pokemon Go’s support website, Pokemon Go’s developer, Niantic, said all 10 of these Pokemon will appear in the wild and will be attracted to Incense during the two “Pokemon League” hours during the Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto event.

These two hours are from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. local time and from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time. In addition, during the last two hours of the event (from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. local time), Pokemon from all of the event’s hourly blocks will have the chance to appear in the wild, so you’ll have another chance to track down these Pokemon.

According to Serebii.net, players who complete this Pokemon League Collection Challenge will receive 151 Stardust, 20 Great Balls, and an encounter with Dratini.

Remember, even if you don’t finish this Collection Challenge during the Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto event itself, you will still have the chance to complete it during the 2021 Kanto Celebration Event, which will run from February 21 at 10 a.m. local time until February 27 at 8 p.m. local time. You can learn more about this Kanto Celebration event right here.
