Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto Evolve Collection Challenge Guide

You'll need lots of Pokemon Candy.

The Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto event has finally arrived in certain regions around the world! On February 20 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. local time, this partially ticketed event will allow trainers to encounter Pokemon from the Kanto region of the Pokemon universe in the wild, complete a variety of Research tasks, and more.

As part of the Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto festivities, players will be able to complete 10 Collection Challenges to receive in-game rewards, like items and Pokemon encounters.

One of these challenges is the Evolve Collection Challenge. Here’s everything you need to know about completing it!

According to Serebii.net, this challenge requires players to collect every evolved Pokemon from the Kanto region of the Pokemon universe. That is, you can’t just collect Ivysaur to finish the collection -- you’ll need to collect Venusaur as well, and so on.

On the Pokemon Go support website, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, said the evolved forms of Pokemon “will not be appearing in the wild during the [Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto] event.” This means you’ll need to collect enough Pokemon Candy to evolve these Pokemon on your own. (Typically, evolving Pokemon doesn’t count for the completion of a Collection Challenge, but this is an exception to the rule.)

According to Serebii.net, when players complete this Collection Challenge, they’ll receive 15,100 experience points, three Star Pieces, and three Rare Candy.

Remember, even though the Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto event is only taking place on one day (February 20), you have until February 28 at 7:59 p.m. local time to complete the event’s Collection Challenges.
