Stock up on Pokemon Candy!
Trainers, the final Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event for September 2021 will take place on September 28 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time.
During this event, Alolan Meowth will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and you’ll receive two Pokemon Candy for every pocket monster you transfer to Professor Willow, instead of one.
Alolan Meowth is a Dark-type Pokemon that was introduced in the Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon video games on Nintendo 3DS, which were set in the Alola region of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Alolan Meowth into Alolan Persian using 50 Meowth Candy.
Shiny Alolan Meowth is available in Pokemon Go.
To make the most of this week’s event, remember that you can activate an Incense to attract wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time. This will give you more Alolan Meowth to encounter and more chances to potentially find a Shiny one.
We also recommend holding onto all of the Pokemon you capture between now and the beginning of this Spotlight Hour event on September 28 if you have room in your Pokemon inventory. If you transfer all of these pocket monsters during the Spotlight Hour event, you’ll receive two Pokemon Candy for each one you transfer, rather than just one.
While this may be the final Spotlight Hour event in September 2021, four more of these events will take place in the month of October. Check out our previous coverage to see the Pokemon and gameplay bonuses that will be featured during each of these events.
