Pokemon Go Season of Heritage: XP Challenge Timed Research Tasks Guide

Trainers, as part of Pokemon Go’s Season of Heritage, players can complete a series of Timed Research tasks called the “Season of Heritage: XP Challenge.”

These Timed Research tasks aren’t available to all players for free. Instead, players can unlock access to these Timed Research tasks by purchasing a ticket for the Pokemon Go Tour: Johto event before January 10, 2022. (You can learn more about the Pokemon Go Tour: Johto event in our previous coverage.)

There are 15 stages to complete in the Season of Heritage: XP Challenge. Each stage will require players to earn a specific number of experience points during the month of January 2022 in order to earn in-game rewards. Altogether, these tasks will require players to earn at least 240,000 experience points in January 2022.

In addition to earning rewards for each of the 15 stages, if players earn 240,000 experience points in January 2022, they’ll receive an additional prize: a Goomy Hat for their avatar. The Goomy Hat is rewarded through a separate Timed Research task that’s also called “Season of Heritage: XP Challenge.” You can check your progress on this task at any time to see how close you are to reaching 240,000 experience points.

According to Serebii.net, here are the cumulative experience point totals players need to reach to complete each stage in the Season of Heritage: XP Challenge, and the major reward players will receive for completing each stage:

• 1,000 experience points – 15 Poke Balls
• 6,000 experience points – 1 Lure Module
• 15,000 experience points – An encounter with Cranidos
• 25,000 experience points – 15 Razz Berries
• 35,000 experience points – 25 Poke Balls
• 47,500 experience points – An encounter with Porygon
• 60,000 experience points – 20 Great Balls
• 70,000 experience points – 15 Pinap Berries
• 90,000 experience points – An encounter with Shedinja
• 110,000 experience points – 25 Ultra Balls
• 150,000 experience points – 3 Golden Razz Berries
• 175,000 experience points – An encounter with Goomy
• 200,000 experience points – 2,500 Stardust
• 240,000 experience points – 1 Star Piece
