You can purchase a ticket to encounter this unique Pokemon.
Trainers, you’ll soon have the opportunity to encounter Galarian Mr. Mime and its evolution, Mr. Rime, in Pokemon Go thanks to a new Special Research event.
Similar to the Genesect Special Research event that took place in Pokemon Go last March, this Galarian Mr. Mime Special Research event will be split into two parts. The first part will be free for all players to experience, while the other will be locked behind a premium ticket.
The free event will run from December 18 at 10 a.m. local time until December 21 at 8 p.m. local time. During this time, Pokemon like Jynx, Swinub, Spoink, Woobat, Cubchoo, and more will be attracted more frequently to Incense, and there will be the chance to encounter Shiny Cubchoo.
In addition, Incense will have boosted effectiveness during this event, and a single Incense will last for three hours, rather than one hour, if it’s activated during this time.
While these bonuses will be available for everyone, the rest of this event will be locked behind a premium ticket priced at $7.99.
The premium portion of this event will run from December 19 at 10 a.m. local time until December 20 at 8 p.m. local time.
If you purchase a ticket, you’ll be able to claim a Galarian Mr. Mime Special Research storyline by logging in to Pokemon Go during this event period.
By completing the tasks in this storyline, you’ll earn encounters with Pokemon like Alolan Vulpix, Jigglypuff, Jynx, Whismur, Chimecho, and Snorunt. You’ll also receive an encounter with Galarian Mr. Mime, as well as enough Pokemon Candy to evolve it into Mr. Rime.
Plus, as you complete this Special Research storyline, you’ll earn three Incense, three Rare Candies, 30 Ultra Balls, three Premium Battle Passes, one Poffin, two Glacial Lure Modules, three Super Incubators, and three Star Pieces.
Ticket holders will need to login to Pokemon Go between December 19 at 10 a.m. local time and December 20 at 8 p.m. local time to actually claim this Special Research storyline. However, the storyline can be completed at any time after that, even after the event ends (however, it may not be as easy to finish after the event is over).
In addition to receiving access to this Special Research, players who buy a ticket will also receive an in-game Medal and a new avatar pose inspired by Mr. Mime. Finally, they’ll be able to collect exclusive Field Research tasks during the premium event period that reward them with encounters with Jynx, Lapras, Woobat, and Cubchoo.
Tickets for this event aren’t on sale just yet, but once they become available, you’ll be able to buy one until December 20 at 6 p.m. local time.
