Players can unlock upgrades for future events.
Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, announced details about Pokemon Go Fest 2022’s Ultra Unlock bonuses.
Players will be able to unlock Ultra Unlock bonuses during the global Pokemon Go Fest event, as well as during the Pokemon Go Fest Berlin, Pokemon Go Fest Seattle, and Pokemon Go Fest Sapporo events.
During each of these Pokemon Go Fest events, players will be able to work together to complete Global Challenges. As the community completes these Global Challenges, they’ll unlock Ultra Unlock bonuses that will be applied to future in-game events.
On the Pokemon Go website, Niantic provided more details about how this feature will work:
“Unlike past years, this year’s Ultra Unlock will not be a single event. Instead, Trainers will have certain Global Challenges to complete during each Pokémon GO Fest event—such as defeating a certain number of Team GO Rocket members—which, if completed, will unlock an upgraded version of a later event during the Season of GO!”
Four Ultra Unlock bonuses will be available to unlock. Here’s the breakdown:
Pokemon Go Fest 2022 – If the community completes “at least” 20 Global Challenges during Pokemon Go Fest 2022, they’ll unlock Ultra Unlock bonuses that will apply to the Adventure Week event. You can learn more about the Adventure Week event in our previous coverage.
Pokemon Go Fest Berlin – If the community completes the Global Challenge that’s available during the Pokemon Go Fest Berlin event, they’ll unlock Ultra Unlock bonuses that will apply to the game’s anniversary event.
Pokemon Go Fest Seattle – If the community completes the Global Challenge that’s available during the Pokemon Go Fest Seattle event, they’ll unlock Ultra Unlock bonuses that will apply to an event that has yet to be revealed.
Pokemon Go Fest Sapporo – If the community completes the Global Challenge that’s available during the Pokemon Go Fest Sapporo event, they’ll unlock Ultra Unlock bonuses that will apply to an event that has yet to be revealed.
