As spotted by Instagram user thisanimalcrossinglife, the Lantern Festival has arrived in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and the game is celebrating by allowing players to collect a set of handheld lanterns.
Each Handheld Lantern can be purchased from the Seasonal tab of the Nook Shopping catalog for 1,100 coins. There are multiple designs of lanterns to collect.
The Nook Shopping catalog provides some information about the Lantern Festival:
“Celebrated throughout Europe, this traditional event features a night of children carrying lanterns and singing songs to usher in the start of winter.”
The Handheld Lanterns will be available in Animal Crossing: New Horizons until November 11, 2021. Make sure to purchase many as you think you’ll want / need now before they’re gone!
