Mark your calendars with June's events!
June is almost here, and that means there are new events and updates to look forward to in Pokemon Go!
Here are some of the features and updates that are coming to the free-to-play mobile game in June 2021.
From June 1 at 1 p.m. PT until July 1 at 1 p.m. PT, players will receive an encounter with Clamperl each time they achieve a Research Breakthrough. Each Research Breakthrough in June will also reward players with a free Remote Raid Pass and twice the normal number of experience points.
As a reminder, players achieve a Research Breakthrough each time they complete at least one Field Research task on seven different days (it doesn’t have to be seven days in a row).
In a news post, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, said this Research Breakthrough experience point bonus would remain active throughout Pokemon Go’s next in-game Season. (The Season of Legends ends on June 1 at 10 a.m. local time.)
Giovanni, the leader of Team Go Rocket, will have Shadow Zapdos on his team from June 1 at 12 a.m. local time until June 17 at 12 a.m. local time. If you’ve yet to complete the Special Research storyline called “The Higher They Fly,” you can complete that storyline to receive a free Super Rocket Radar that you can use to challenge Giovanni.
Different Legendary Pokemon will appear in Tier-5 Raids in June. Here’s the breakdown:
Niantic said that, beginning June 1, only one Mega Pokemon will appear in Mega Raids at a time. Here’s the schedule for June:
A Raid Hour event will take place each Wednesday in June from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time. During these events, more Tier-5 Raids will appear than normal, which feature the Pokemon that’s appearing in Legendary Raids at the time. Here’s the schedule:
Each Tuesday in June from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time, one featured Pokemon will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and players will be able to access a special in-game bonus. Here’s the calendar of Spotlight Hour events for June:
June will have at least three limited-time events (not including Gible Pokemon Go Community Day). Here’s what we know about these events so far:
A Very Slow Discovery – This event will run from June 8 at 10 a.m. local time until June 13 at 8 p.m. local time. The event will focus on “lazy and active” pocket monsters, and it will feature the debuts of Galarian Slowpoke, Galarian Slowbro, and Mega Slowbro in Pokemon Go. Finally, players will be able to complete a Collection Challenge by collecting Slowpoke and more.
Solstice Event – The Solstice Event will run from June 17 at 10 a.m. local time until June 20 at 8 p.m. local time. During this event, players in the northern hemisphere will be able to encounter Pokemon themed after “summer,” while players in the southern hemisphere will be able to encounter pocket monsters themed after “winter.” Niantic said more details about this event will be revealed on June 16.
Unnamed Event – Niantic said, “Trainers will be able to sink their two front teeth into an unexpected event from Friday, June 25, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. through Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. local time!”
