Here's a preview of what to expect.
Electronic Arts (EA) announced the next downloadable content (DLC) pack coming to The Sims 4, its life simulation game that allows players to guide characters called Sims through their everyday lives.
The My Wedding Stories Game Pack will allow players to plan weddings for their Sims, starting with the process of getting engaged and going all of the way to the reception after the wedding ceremony. The DLC will also add the ability to have Vow Renewal ceremonies after the big day.
In the My Wedding Stories Game Pack, players will be able to explore a new in-game world called Tartosa, which features multiple possible wedding locations, including a “Coastal Village” and a “Forested Inland.” Players will also be able to have their Sims elope at City Hall.
Once Sims become engaged, players will be able to throw Engagement Parties, Bach Parties, and Rehearsal Dinners. Players will also be able to choose the “Sim of Honor” for the occasion.
As part of the wedding planning process, players will be able to choose the date and venue for the ceremony, pick out dresses and/or tuxedos for the couple, choose the bouquet, pick out a wedding cake, and more.
For the ceremony itself, players will have the option to have a flower and ring bearer walk down the aisle before the couple. There will also be the option to have someone walk down the aisle with each member of the couple to “give them away.”
Once the couple is married, players will be able to make their way to the reception, where their Sims can toss their bouquet, cut the wedding cake, have their first dance, and more.
Finally, as married couples grow older, players will be able to hold Vow Renewal ceremonies, which are smaller versions of a traditional wedding ceremony.
The Sims 4: My Wedding Stories Game Pack will be released on February 17 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, and Mac. The Sims 4 is rated T for Teen by the ESRB.
