Kids can color pictures inspired by real-world toys.
Rainbocorns is a new coloring book game for preschoolers inspired by ZURU’s line of Rainbocorns blind bag toys.
Rainbocorns has 49 different images for kids to color, which feature characters from the different Rainbocorns series, like “Wild Heart Surprise” and “Sequin Surprise,” among others. Once kids select a picture, they can color it in using their controller by moving a pointer around the screen and pressing the “ZR” button to color with their selected color (there are 20 colors to choose from).
Kids also have the option to color using touch controls when using the Switch in handheld mode. We found this to be a more enjoyable experience, since it’s faster than coloring with a controller.
Littles aren’t required to finish a picture before moving onto another, though the game won’t save their progress when they leave their current picture behind. That is, they’ll need to start the image over from scratch when they come back to it.
In addition to coloring pages, Rainbocorns features all eight episodes from series one of the Rainbocorns animated series, which are also available to watch for free online.
Rainbocorns will be released on March 31 for $12.99. The game is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB.
