The Fire-type Chimp Pokemon is the star of next month's event.
As we head into colder weather, November’s Pokemon Go Community Day is set to heat things up. On November 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time, Chimchar, the adorable Fire-type Chimp Pokemon, will appear more often than normal in the wild. We expect we’ll also have the chance to run into its rare Shiny version.
Chimchar is one of the starting Pokemon from Generation IV of the Pokemon universe. Specifically, Chimchar, Turtwig, and Piplup are the three Pokemon players can choose from when starting Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, which were released on Nintendo DS in 2007 in North America.
Chimchar has two evolutions. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Chimchar into Monferno using 25 Chimchar Candy, and then evolve Monferno into Infernape using 100 Chimchar Candy. An exclusive battle move will be up for grabs during November’s Pokemon Go Community Day (likely for Infernape), but it hasn’t been revealed just yet.
During November’s event, Lure Modules will remain active for three hours when placed on a PokeStop during the event window, rather than the standard 30 minutes. In addition, Eggs will hatch after walking 1/4 of the normal required distance, so long as they’re placed into an Incubator during the event.
Finally, with the end of the year nearly upon us, we already know the dates for December’s Community Day event: December 14-15. We’re expecting this event to have the same format as the December 2018 Community Day event, which saw all of the featured Pokemon from last year’s Community Days appear in larger numbers than normal so that players could collect any Pokemon they might have missed out on throughout the year. We’ll make sure to let you know if that’s the case as well for 2019.
