Trainer, Pokemon Go’s 2021 Valentine’s Day event features a tricky Collection Challenge for players to complete that focuses heavily on raiding.
Players need to catch 12 different Pokemon to complete the Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge, and only seven of them can be found in the wild (check out our Collection Challenge guide for the complete list).
If you’re having trouble catching Espeon for the Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge, here’s everything you need to know about finding it!
According to The Silph Road subreddit, Espeon will only appear in Raids during this Valentine’s Day event. This means you can’t find it in the wild or by completing Field Research tasks.
Furthermore, you can’t simply evolve an Eevee into Espeon for that to count, and you can’t trade for an Espeon either — you must catch Espeon in its already evolved form.
Espeon will appear in Tier-3 Raids during this event, which means lower level players (or those with weaker Pokemon teams) may not be able to defeat it on their own.
Even if you can take down Espeon on your own, we still recommend inviting friends to complete the Raid with you — that way, they’ll have the chance to catch Espeon to complete their own Collection Challenge.
Once you’ve found Espeon for the Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge, you may want to track down Umbreon or Alomomola next. If you’re having trouble finding either one, check out our guides that can help you out!
