Pokemon Go Animation Week Timed Research Tasks Guide

Trainers, Animation Week begins today in Pokemon Go! From November 6 at 8 a.m. local time to November 12 at 10 p.m. local time, you’ll be able to encounter Pokemon that are associated with the animated show Pokemon Journeys: The Series. (To learn more about Animation Week, check out our previous coverage.)

As part of this event, you can also complete a series of Timed Research tasks to earn a variety of rewards, including Pokemon encounters.

Here’s what these tasks ask you to do, and the rewards you’ll receive for completing them!

Animation Week Research Part 1

• Catch 5 Pokemon – 3 Razz Berries
• Transfer a Pokemon – 3 Super Potions
• Make 3 Nice Throws – 5 Poke Balls

Final Rewards: 500 Stardust, 500 experience points, and an encounter with World Cap Pikachu when all three tasks are completed

Animation Week Research Part 2

• Battle Another Trainer – 3 Potions
• Battle in a Raid – 3 Revives
• Win a Raid – 1 Incense

Final Rewards: 500 Stardust, 500 experience points, and a Sinnoh Stone when all three tasks are completed

Animation Week Research Part 3

• Defeat 3 Team Go Rocket Grunts – 20 Venusaur Mega Energy
• Catch 2 Pokemon With Weather Boost – 20 Venusaur Mega Energy
• Catch 3 Grass-type Pokemon – 20 Venusaur Mega Energy

Final Rewards: 500 Stardust, 500 experience points, and an encounter with Ivysaur when all three tasks are completed

Animation Week Research Part 4

• Give Your Buddy 3 Treats – 3 Razz Berries
• Earn a Heart With Your Buddy – 5 Pinap Berries
• Earn a Candy Walking With Your Buddy – 5 Nanab Berries

Final Rewards: 500 Stardust, 500 experience points, and an encounter with Snorlax when all three tasks are completed

Animation Week Research Part 5

• Catch 3 Bug-type Pokemon – 3 Pinap Berries
• Use 3 Berries to Help Catch Pokemon – 3 Great Balls
• Make an Excellent Throw – An encounter with Venonat

Final Rewards: 500 Stardust, 500 experience points, and an encounter with Scyther when all three tasks are completed

Animation Week Research Part 6

• Battle in a Gym 2 Times – 1 Fast TM
• Win a Gym Battle – An encounter with Hariyama
• Battle Another Trainer – 3 Super Potions

Final Rewards: 500 Stardust, 500 experience points, and one Charged TM when all three tasks are completed

Animation Week Research Part 7

• Hatch an Egg – An encounter with Tentacool
• Spin 3 PokeStops or Gyms – An encounter with Croagunk
• Spin 3 PokeStops or Gyms – An encounter with Piplup

Final Rewards: 500 Stardust, 500 experience points, and an encounter with Psyduck when all three tasks are completed

Animation Week Research Part 8

• Make 3 Nice Throws in a Row – An encounter with Cyndaquil
• Catch a Flying-type Pokemon – An encounter with Hoothoot
• Purify a Shadow Pokemon – 1 Lucky Egg

Final Rewards: 500 Stardust, 500 experience points, and an encounter with Fearow when all three tasks are completed

Animation Week Research Part 9

• Evolve 3 Pokemon – 1 Silver Pinap Berry
• Power Up Pokemon 3 Times – An encounter with Dratini
• Transfer 5 Pokemon – An encounter with Dewgong

Final Rewards: 500 Stardust, 500 experience points, and 1 Dragon Scale when all three tasks are completed

Animation Week Research Part 10

• Catch 5 Pokemon – 10 Ultra Balls
• Make 3 Great Throws – An encounter with Magnemite
• Battle in a Raid – 3 Max Revives

Final Rewards: 500 Stardust, 500 experience points, and an encounter with Gengar when all three tasks are completed

• Automatically Completed Task – 1,000 experience points
• Automatically Completed Task – 1,000 experience points
• Automatically Completed Task – 1,000 experience points
