It's not appearing in the wild.
Trainers, Pokemon Go’s 2021 Valentine’s Day event is running from now until February 18 at 8 p.m. local time.
As part of this event, players can complete a Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge to receive some nice rewards, like Silver Pinap Berries and Rocket Radars.
This Collection Challenge asks players to track down 12 different Pokemon (here’s the full list), but that task is easier said than done, since only a portion of these Pokemon can be found in the wild.
If you’re having trouble tracking down Umbreon for the Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge, here’s everything you need to know about catching one!
First and foremost, keep in mind that you can’t evolve an Eevee into Umbreon to complete this challenge. You also can’t trade for an Umbreon. You must catch Umbreon in its already evolved form.
So, how can you catch one?
According to The Silph Road subreddit, during this Valentine’s Day event, Umbreon will only appear in Tier-3 Raids. That means you won’t be able to find it in the wild or as a reward encounter for completing Field Research tasks.
Since Umbreon is in Tier-3 Raids, lower level players (or those with weaker Pokemon) may not be able to defeat it on their own. Keep in mind that you can invite your in-game friends to join the Raid with you if you need help.
Even if you can defeat Umbreon without help, we still recommend inviting friends to complete the Raid with you. That way, they’ll have the chance to catch Umbreon for their own Collection Challenge.
Now that you know how to catch Umbreon for the Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge, why not check out our other guides that can help you find Espeon and Alomomola?
