This feature has two control options to choose from!
As part of the Version 2.0 update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players can participate in Group Stretching sessions in their island’s plaza.
This Group Stretching feature offers two different control options, depending on the type of controller you’re using.
If you’re using Joy-Con controllers, you can choose between motion and button controls. If you choose motion controls, the game will ask you to stand up and perform movements in the real-world to match your animal friends. If you choose button controls, you’ll be asked to press certain buttons as prompts appear on the screen.
If you’re not using Joy-Con (for instance, if you’re using a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller), you can only use button controls.

In order to participate in a Group Stretching session, interact with the tape deck next to the Resident Services building in your plaza.
From there, choose the “Let’s stretch!” option.
If you’re using Joy-Con, you’ll have the ability to choose between motion and button controls. If you choose motion controls, the game will show you movement guides that you can follow along with to perform actions in the real world in time with the music. If you choose button controls, button prompts will appear on the screen, asking you to press certain buttons or move the analog sticks in certain directions in time with the music.
The goal for both control methods is to perform actions in time with the music so that your character’s movements match the movements of the animal friends you’re stretching with!
Finally, as reported by Eurogamer, players will have the chance to earn Nook Miles rewards if they complete a Group Stretching session each day.
