January's Community Day event is coming Saturday, January 12.
Trainers, it’s almost time for the first Pokemon Go Community Day of 2019! From 2 p.m. ET to 5 p.m. ET on January 12, players can encounter far more Totodile than normal as they play during this special three-hour event.
Totodile is one of the three starter Pokemon players could choose from when starting up Pokemon Gold or Silver, which were released on Game Boy Color in 2000 in North America. The other two starting Pokemon from these games, Chikorita and Cyndoquil, were the stars of their own Community Day events in September and November, respectively.
Totodile has two evolutions. Players can evolve Totodile in Croconaw using 25 Totodile Candy, and then evolve Croconaw into Feraligatr using 100 Totodile Candy. When players create a Feraligatr during this event, it will know the exclusive battle move Hydro Cannon.
In addition, Lure Modules will last for three hours when activated during this Community Day event, rather than the standard 30 minutes. Lure Modules can be placed on PokeStops, causing wild Pokemon to be attracted to the location for a limited time. Finally, when an Egg is placed into an Incubator during this event, it will hatch after walking only a quarter of the normal distance (75 percent faster than normal).
Keep in mind, Community Day events give players a greater chance than normal of finding rare Shiny versions of the featured Pokemon. Mark your calendars so you don’t miss out on this fun event!
