Dragon Quest Builders 2 on PC leads a light month of game releases.
As 2019 comes to a close, the final month of the year will see the launch of lots of new games, but not many big-name releases. Some highlights include the PC release of Dragon Quest Builders 2 (which was previously released on PlayStation 4) and Wattam, the latest game from the creator of Katamari Damacy.
Dragon Quest Builders 2
Rated E10+
Appropriate for: Older kids who enjoy building things
Dragon Quest Builders 2 is the sequel to the original Dragon Quest Builders, which was released in 2016. The role-playing adventure game challenges players to defeat a cult called the Children of Hargon, which has “outlawed the building, cooking, and creation of all things.” To accomplish this, players will need to explore the world, defeat enemies, and collect materials that they can use to craft objects, build structures, and more. In addition to a single-player campaign, the game allows builders to team up with up to three other players (locally or online) in a multiplayer mode. Wattam
Rated E10+
Appropriate for: Older kids who are comfortable with console controllers
Wattam is the latest game from the creator of Katamari Damacy. In Wattam, players must help a sad character named Mayor find happiness through the power of friendship. The game lets you explore a colorful world and become friends with over 100 different characters. You can play on your own, or team up with a friend or family member for some local co-op (that means you’re both in the same room).

Shovel Knight: King of Cards
Rated E
Appropriate for: Kids who enjoy side-scrolling platformers
Shovel Knight: King of Cards is the last campaign in the Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove series. The side-scrolling platformer lets you become the King Knight, who must complete 30 new courses and explore four different worlds on his quest to defeat the “Three Kings.” As you progress, you’ll be able to collect new weapons and armor to help you on your adventure. Shovel Knight: King of Cards also features a card battle mini-game.
