Follow the Addams family on frightful adventures in this new mobile game based on the upcoming film.

The Addams Family Mystery Mansion is a free-to-play mobile game on iOS and Android devices that’s based on The Addams Family, which hits theaters on October 11. The game allows you to explore and decorate the Addams family’s mansion as you complete quests.

The game was created by Pixowl, the developer behind games like Wonder Park Magic Rides and Peanuts: Snoopy’s Town Tale, and it has gameplay that’s similar to those titles.

When you begin, you’ll only have access to Gomez and Morticia, who will ask you to build certain items in the mansion, unlock new rooms, and more to progress through the game’s story. Some quests ask you to assign these characters to complete specific tasks around the mansion to earn items like coins and crafting materials. You can then use crafting materials in crafting stations to create more valuable items.

While you only start out with two characters, you can unlock more over time, starting with Pugsley. Unfortunately, the game locks Wednesday Addams behind a paywall, so you’ll have to pay 100 premium currency to unlock her as an interactive character, as well as gain access to her room in the mansion. (A Starter Pack is also available for $4.99 that includes Wednesday, along with other in-game items.)

There are also premium furniture and decoration items available to purchase in the in-game store. You receive a small amount of premium currency at the beginning of the game, and you will be rewarded with additional premium currency as you play, so if you save up, you may eventually be able to purchase Wednesday or the other items you want without spending real money. It’s worth pointing out that these aren’t the only ways you can spend premium currency (real money) in the game.

The Addams Family Mystery Mansion is available to download for free on iOS and Android devices. The game is rated 9+ on iOS and E for Everyone on Android. The game’s story plays out through text, rather than voice acting, so younger children may need help following along with the story.
