Tame over 250 creatures, including dinosaurs, in this pet-collection mobile game.

Video game company Netmarble has officially launched StoneAge World on iOS and Android devices in 172 countries around the world.

The game is the latest installment in Netmarble’s “StoneAge” franchise, which the company acquired in 2012. The original StoneAge online game was released on PC in 1999, and had over 200 million users.

The original StoneAge was followed by StoneAge Mobile in 2013 and StoneAge Begins (another mobile game) in 2016. During the franchise’s history, over 1.5 billion pets have been collected.

StoneAge World is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that takes you back to the time of the dinosaurs, where you can become a warrior known as a “Trainer.” You’ll embark on a quest to stop the threat of the “Machine Life,” mechanical dinosaurs that humans created to help them conquer nature, but then ran out of control.

In the past, these machines were sealed away, bringing peace back to the land. But now, there are some who want to release them from their “prison.”

StoneAge World allows you to explore environments and battle a wide variety of talking pets that you can add to your collection. You can collect over 250 different creatures in all, from dinosaurs and wooly mammoths to pigs, wolves, and beyond.

When you battle one of these wild animals, you’ll need to use strategy to whittle down their health to the point where they can be captured, but not deal so much damage that you accidentally defeat them.

Once you’ve collected a few pets, you can also battle other characters and their pets (the game uses turn-based combat for battles and capturing creatures). The game gives you the option of choosing which attack or special skill each pet (and your character) will use on their next turn, or you can turn on auto battle, which tells the game to make these decisions for you. With auto battle, you can literally watch a battle play out without touching the screen at all.

You’re led through StoneAge World by a series of quests that ask you to complete specific tasks. Your character will automatically walk to the next key location to complete these quests, or you can use a virtual joystick to explore the world on your own.

Over time, you can upgrade your pets to make them stronger, as well as outfit your character with new gear to improve their stats. You can even dismiss pets you no longer want to earn items that you can use to upgrade your favorites. Finally, you’ll earn a variety of rewards for completing in-game achievements and for simply logging in and playing the game each day.

StoneAge World is now available to download for free on iOS and Android devices. The game is rated 12+ on iOS and T for Teen on Android.
