Take a look at the game's starting Pokemon!

In a Pokemon Presents video presentation on February 27 (Pokemon Day), the Pokemon Company revealed Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, the next games in the main series of Pokemon video games (that is, they’re the direct follow-up to Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield).

Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet will allow players to embark on a new adventure as a Pokemon trainer.

A press release offered a few details about the setting for these new games:

“Trainers can explore an open world where various towns with no borders blend seamlessly into the wilderness. Pokémon can be seen everywhere in this wide-open world—in the skies, in the sea, and on the streets.”

Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet will allow players to choose from three adorable starting Pokemon: Sprigatito (the Grass Cat Pokemon), Fuecoco (the Fire Croc Pokemon) and Quaxly (the Duckling Pokemon).

The games will also see players wear a different outfit, depending on the game they’re playing.

Finally, The Pokemon Company said Pokemon Home support will be available in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet after the games are released. This will allow players to bring Pokemon they’ve collected in previous games into Scarlet and Violet.

Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet will be released on Switch near the end of 2022. Keep checking back with SuperParent, as we’ll bring you more details about these new games as they’re revealed.
