Here's what we know about these events so far.

Update (01/28/2022): Niantic has canceled the Pokemon Go Tour: Live event scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi, and it will refund players who purchased tickets for the event. As of this writing, the events in Monterrey and Kaoshiung will be held as scheduled.

Original Story:

Earlier this year, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, announced that the Pokemon Go Tour: Johto event will take place in Pokemon Go on February 26, 2022. This partially ticketed event will be available for all players around the world to participate in. (You can learn more about the Pokemon Go Tour: Johto event in our previous coverage.)

Following the worldwide Pokemon Go Tour: Johto event on February 26, Pokemon Go will host a “Pokemon Go Tour: Live” event in three locations on February 27, 2022:

  • Parque Fundidora in Monterrey, Mexico
  • Taiwan Lantern Festival in Kaohsiung, Taiwan
  • Yas Bay in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Players will have the option to purchase a ticket to one of these events for $25.

On the Pokemon Go website, Niantic shared the features and in-game bonuses that will be available for attendees:

  • “Real-world themed habitats, each with their own Collection Challenges!
  • You’ll be able to complete up to six Special Trades during event hours: 10am-6pm local time.
  • You’ll be able to access event-exclusive Special Research.
  • Take some snapshots for a surprise!
  • Eggs placed in Incubators during the event will require one-quarter the usual walking distance to hatch.
  • You’ll earn twice the Candy from hatching Eggs.
  • You’ll earn extra Candy from catching featured Pokémon originally discovered in Kanto.
  • You’ll get up to nine free Raid Passes from spinning Photo Discs at Gyms.
  • You’ll get an exclusive in-game medal.
  • Special stickers will be available from PokéStops and Gifts.
  • Confetti will be appearing on the in-game map during the event.
  • Real-life photo-ops and lounge areas will be available in the park.
  • Exclusive merchandise will be available at select locations.”

Niantic said it will reveal even more details about these Pokemon Go Tour: Live events in the future. Keep checking back with SuperParent, as we’ll let you know when those details are revealed!
