As spotted by Serebii.net, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, revealed details about an Evolving Stars event that’s coming soon to Pokemon Go.

The Evolving Stars event will run from October 5, 2022 at 10 a.m. local time until October 11, 2022 at 8 p.m. local time.

Once this event begins, a new portion of the “A Cosmic Companion” Special Research will become available to complete.

In addition, once this event begins, players will have the option to evolve Cosmog into Cosmoem using 25 Cosmog Candy. On the Pokemon Go website, Niantic said, “And don’t worry about evolving your only Cosmog—rumor has it that Trainers will have the opportunity to encounter additional Cosmog in the distant future.”

During this event, Kakuna, Pidgeotto, Poliwhirl, Kadabra, Haunter, Rhyhorn, Seadra, Scyther, Eevee, Swinub, Ralts, Duskull, Tynamo, Litwick, and Helioptile will appear more frequently than normal in the wild.

A variety of Pokemon will appear in Raids during this event:

  • Tier-1 Raids – Slowpoke, Onix, Scyther, Porygon, and Sunkern
  • Tier-3 Raids – Magneton, Rhydon, Togetic, and Piloswine
  • Tier-5 Raids – Yveltal will appear in Tier-5 Raids from September 27, 2022 at 10 a.m. local time until October 8 at 10 a.m. local time. Xerneas will appear in Tier-5 Raids from October 8, 2022 at 10 a.m. local time until October 20, 2022 at 10 a.m. local time.
  • Mega Raids – Mega Lopunny will appear in Mega Raids from September 27, 2022 at 10 a.m. local time until October 8, 2022 at 10 a.m. local time. Mega Manectric will appear in Mega Raids from October 8, 2022 at 10 a.m. local time until October 20, 2022 at 10 a.m. local time

During the Evolving Stars event, players will be able to complete event-themed Field Research tasks to earn Stardust, Mega Energy, and evolution items. In addition, players will be able to complete four Collection Challenges during this event to receive evolution items. These Collection Challenges will focus on evolving Pokemon.

Elsewhere, the Evolution Cup will be available in the Go Battle League during the Evolving Stars event. Only Pokemon that have already been evolved and have the ability to evolve again can participate in this cup. In addition, only Pokemon with a CP of 1,500 or lower can participate in this cup.

Finally, a Mega Gyarados Raid Day event will take place on October 8 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time. During this event, Mega Gyarados will appear more frequently than normal in Raids, and players will have an increased chance of encountering Shiny Gyarados.
