It'll be out in time for the holidays.
Nintendo revealed a new version of its Nintendo Switch system with an updated display, more internal storage, and more.
The Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) will be released on October 8 for $349.99, which is $50 more than the price of a standard Switch system ($299.99).
The OLED Model will feature a 7” OLED touch screen display and 64 GB of internal storage. These are both improvements over the original Switch, which has a 6.2” LCD touch screen and 32 GB of internal storage.
The Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) will also have a LAN port in the dock, a “wide adjustable stand” for using the system in tabletop mode, and “enhanced audio” when using the system in handheld or tabletop mode.
The system itself will be slightly larger than the regular Switch, at 4” high, 9.5” long, and .55” deep. The original Switch is 4” high, 9.4” long, and .55” deep. The OLED Model will weigh approximately .93 pounds, while the regular Switch weighs approximately .88 pounds.
The Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) will come in two color options at launch. A white version will have two white Joy-Con controllers, a black system, and a white dock, while a neon red / neon blue version will have neon red and neon blue Joy-Con controllers, a black system, and a black dock.
All of Nintendo’s previously released Joy-Con will be compatible with the new OLED Model, and the system will play the entire library of previously released Nintendo Switch games.
