Disney Villains Sinister Spoons Asks Players to Act Like Disney Villains to Discard Cards

The party game is for at least four players.

Funko Games, the company behind games like Indiana Jones: Sands of Adventure and Disney Kingdomania, recently released Disney Villains Sinister Spoons, a party game inspired by the card game Spoons.

Disney Villains Sinister Spoons is for 4-8 players with a recommended age of 7+. In each round, players are challenged to be the first to get rid of all of the cards in their hand and grab a spoon from the center of the table.

Disney Villains Sinister Spoons is played standing up. The game features four colorful spoons themed after Jafar, Ursula, Maleficent, and Captain Hook, which are placed in the center of the gameplay area. Each player has a deck of 12 cards, which will ask them to act like each of the game’s four villains as they try to make matches with other players.

During a round, every player will try to get rid of their cards simultaneously. That is, players won’t take turns. Once a player flips over the top card in their deck, they’ll see the action they need to perform. For instance, if the card features Ursula, they’ll need to “shimmy [their] shoulders back and forth while shouting ‘Body language!’”

If another player is performing the same action, the pair can make a “match” by performing another physical action. In the Ursula example, one player will run over to the matching player and bump hips with them before returning to their original spot. Once the match has been made, both players can discard the card and move onto the next card in their deck.

If players can’t find another player performing the same action, they can move the card to the bottom of their deck and try the next card instead.

Players will repeat these steps until the first player runs out of cards. When that happens, the player who has run out of cards can grab a spoon from the center of the table. After that, every other player is allowed to grab a spoon as quickly as possible until they’re all collected, which ends the round.

At the end of a round, every player who collected a spoon can flip over the villain tile in front of them that matches the spoon they collected. The first player to collect a spoon can also flip over a second tile of their choosing.

Since players will race to collect spoons at the end of a round, it’s possible someone may accidentally collect a spoon matching a villain tile they’ve already flipped over. When this happens, they aren’t allowed to flip over any additional tiles.

Once the villain tiles have been flipped over, the next round can begin. Once someone flips over all four of their villain tiles, they’ll win the game. Since multiple players will collect a spoon during each round, it’s possible more than one person will win the game at the same time.

Disney Villains Sinister Spoons is now available for $19.99. Each game has an expected play time of 20 minutes.
