Destiny 2 Is Preparing to Celebrate the Festival of the Lost

This special Halloween-themed event begins on October 29.

Halloween is almost here! While many games (on both mobile and console) have already been updated with spooky events that allow players to celebrate this frightful time of year, Destiny 2 players will need to wait just a few more days before their Halloween fun can begin.

As spotted by Polygon, Destiny 2’s Festival of the Lost event is set to kick off on October 29, and run through November 19.

To participate in this event, you’ll need to have unlocked The Tower and have at least 770 Power (if you’re playing on a character that was created before the launch of Destiny 2: New Light, you won’t need to hit the 770 Power requirement). Once that’s done, you’ll unlock a quest that asks you to talk to Eva Levante at the Tower. (The Tower itself will also be decked out with plenty of Halloween decorations.)

From there, you can explore the Haunted Forest, which is full of creepy enemies to defeat. When you enter the Haunted Forest, you’ll have 15 minutes to take on enemies and collect special currencies: Candy and Chocolate Strange Coins. You can return to Eva spend these currencies on fun items, including masks, mystery grab bags, and a Braytech Werewolf Legendary Auto Rifle.

As part of this event, you can purchase a Masquerader’s Helmet from Eva, and then apply special Festival of the Lost armor mods to it, which will be active while you explore the Haunted Forest. For example, the Higher Purpose mode gives you “significantly increased damage to all enemies,” among other perks.

Finally, during this event, you’ll be able to complete a variety of Festival of the Lost triumphs, which ask you to do things like defeat Terrors in the Haunted Forest and collect candy.
