Here's an overview of Amazon's premium subscription service for kids.

Here’s everything parents need to know about Amazon Kids+.

What’s Amazon Kids+? How does it work?

Amazon Kids+ is a subscription service from Amazon. The service gives children unlimited access to a catalog of kid-friendly content, including books, films, television shows, educational applications, and games, which can be accessed on compatible Fire, Fire TV, Kindle, iOS, Android, and Chrome OS devices.

In addition, an Amazon Kids+ subscription gives kids unlimited access to ad-free playlists and radio stations, Audible books, and “premium kid’s skills” that can be accessed on compatible Echo devices. You can browse the available Amazon Kids+ Skills on Amazon’s website.

The Amazon Kids+ service offers a “Parent Dashboard” for parents, where parents can set screen time limits, age filters, and more for their children. Depending on the Amazon Kids+ subscription plan families choose, parents can create individual profiles for up to four children and assign different settings for each one.

Finally, Amazon Kids+ includes access to the Amazon Kids web browser, which allows kids to browse the internet with filters in place.

Amazon’s website provides more information about this web browser:

“The Amazon Kids web browser is a browser built from the ground up to give kids a personalized and age-appropriate web experience. The web browser offers two browsing options. Parents can choose either the “Hand-Selected Websites & Videos” option, which limits access to only permitted websites and web videos or the “Filtered Websites & Videos” option which provides a more open but filtered experience. With both options, parents can see what content their child is accessing online through the browsing history on Parent Dashboard.”

How much does Amazon Kids+ cost?

The “Monthly Single Child Plan” for Amazon Kids+ is priced at $2.99 per month for Amazon Prime members and $4.99 per month for non-Amazon Prime members. With this plan, a single child can receive unlimited access to the Amazon Kids+ service. This subscription includes a one-month free trial.

The “Monthly Family Plan” is priced at $6.99 per month for Amazon Prime members and $9.99 per month for non-Amazon Prime members. This subscription gives up to four children unlimited access to the Amazon Kids+ service. The Monthly Family Plan also includes a one-month free trial.

The “3-Month Family Plan” is priced at $29.99. This subscription gives up to four children unlimited access to the Amazon Kids+ service for a three-month period.

The “1-Year Family Plan” is priced at $69 per year for Prime members and $99 per year for non-Amazon Prime members. This subscription gives up to four children unlimited access to the Amazon Kids+ service for a 12-month period.

Finally, a one-year subscription to Amazon Kids+ is included with the purchase of a Fire Kids Edition Tablet.
