The single-player experience will challenge players to climb the Spire of Order.
The Side Order downloadable content (DLC) in the Splatoon 3: Expansion Pass is coming soon to Nintendo Switch! Splatoon 3 is a family-friendly shooter that allows players to shoot ink from weapons, rather than bullets.
The Splatoon 3 Side Order DLC is a single-player experience that will allow players to become Agent 8 on a quest to bring color back to the in-game world as they climb the Spire of Order.
The Spire of Order is filled with enemies to defeat and obstacles to overcome. Each floor will have different objectives to complete, which may ask players to defeat enemies, hold an area for a specific amount of time, and so on.
These objectives will become more difficult as players climb the Spire, and the objectives will also change each time players attempt to reach the top of the Spire. That is, this DLC was designed to be played multiple times, as it’s unlikely players will reach the top of the Spire the first time they play.
As players climb the Spire, they can collect color chips that can be used to unlock upgrades, such as increased firing speed and increased damage output.
If players fail to reach the top of the Spire, they’ll be forced to start from the beginning the next time they make an attempt to reach the top. However, whenever players fail to reach the top, the color chips they collected will be changed into a currency that they can spend on permanent upgrades that may help them make it farther the next time they attempt to climb the Spire.
The Side Order DLC in the Splatoon 3: Expansion Pass will be released on February 22, 2024. The Splatoon 3: Expansion Pass is available to purchase for $24.99. When players purchase the Expansion Pass, they’ll receive the Side Order DLC and the Inkopolis DLC that was previously released. Players will need to own the base game of Splatoon 3 to access the DLC.
Splatoon 3 is available for $59.99. The game is rated E10+ for Everyone 10+ by the ESRB.
