Sega revealed Sonic Superstars, the latest video game in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise.
Sonic Superstars is a side-scrolling action platforming game that will take players to the Northstar Islands. Players will be challenged to help Sonic and his friends stop Dr. Eggman and other villains from turning the islands’ animals into Badniks.
The video description under the game’s trailer on the Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube channel says:
“Sonic and friends are back with an all-new look! Join Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy Rose on an adventure that takes “classic” to another level. Team up with friends, master new powers from the Chaos Emeralds, and speed through all brand-new zones on your way to take down Dr. Eggman (and co)!”
Sonic Superstars will feature four playable characters: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy Rose. The game will support single-player gameplay as well as cooperative gameplay for up to four players.
Sonic Superstars will be released on Switch, PlayStation consoles, Xbox consoles, and PC in fall 2023. The game has yet to be rated by the ESRB, but it will be family-friendly.
