This event is coming soon!
As spotted by Serebii.net, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, announced a July 2023 Community Day Classic makeup event is coming soon to Pokemon Go.
The original Pokemon Go July 2023 Community Day Classic event took place on July 9, 2023. During the event, players who use Pokemon Trainer Club accounts to play Pokemon Go had problems logging in to the game.
To make up for this issue, the July 2023 Community Day Classic makeup event will be held on July 23, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time. All players around the world will be able to participate in this event, even if they don’t use a Pokemon Trainer Club account to play the game.
During this event, Squirtle will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will have the chance to encounter Shiny Squirtle. Normal Squirtle is blue with a brown shell, while Shiny Squirtle is a lighter blue color with a green shell.
In Pokemon Go, players can evolve Squirtle into Wartortle using 25 Squirtle Candy, and then evolve Wartortle into Blastoise using 100 Squirtle Candy. Each time players evolve Wartortle into Blastoise during this event or doing the two hours immediately following it, Blastoise will learn the move Hydro Cannon.
Four in-game bonuses will be active during this event:
Players will be able to complete event-themed Field Research tasks during this event to receive encounters with Squritle wearing sunglasses.
Finally, players will have the option to spend $1 on a ticket that will give them access to a Special Research storyline during this event called “Squirtle Community Day Classic.” Players will have the option to purchase this ticket for themselves, and they’ll also have the option to purchase the ticket for their in-game friends.
