Pokemon Go: Watch Out for Shiny Chansey During February 2024 Community Day

February’s Pokemon Go Community Day event will take place on February 4, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time.

During this event, Chansey will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will have the chance to encounter Shiny Chansey. Shiny Chansey is green and cream, instead of pink.

Chansey is a Normal-type Pokemon from the first generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Chansey into Blissey using 50 Chansey Candy.

Each time players evolve Chansey into Blissey during this event or during the five hours immediately following it, Blissey will learn the move Wild Charge.

Six in-game bonuses will be active from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time on February 4, 2024:

• Players will receive two times the normal number of Pokemon Candy when catching Pokemon.
• Eggs will hatch after walking 1/4 of the normal required distance when placed into an Incubator during this event.
• There will be twice the normal chance for players who have reached at least Level 31 in Pokemon Go to receive Candy XL when catching Pokemon during this event.
• Lure Modules will remain active for three hours when activated during this event.
• Incense will remain active for three hours when activated during this event.
• Players will be able to take Snapshots of Pokemon to receive additional Chansey encounters.

Three additional in-game bonuses will be active from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. local time on February 4, 2024:

• Players will be able to perform one extra Special Trade.
• Trades will require 50 percent less Stardust to perform.
• On the Pokemon Go website, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, said, “Happiny has a chance of hatching from 2 km Eggs obtained during February Community Day. Happiny that hatch from these Eggs will have the same chance of appearing as a Shiny Pokémon as Chansey that appear during February Community Day.”

Players will have the option to spend $1 on a ticket that will give them access to a Special Research storyline on Community Day. Players will have the option to purchase this ticket for themselves, and they’ll also have the option to purchase this ticket for their in-game friends.

Players will also be able to collect event-themed stickers during this event by opening Gifts, spinning the Photo Disc at PokeStops, and buying them from the in-game shop.

Players will be able to complete event-themed Field Research tasks during this event to receive rewards like Stardust, Great Balls, and encounters with Chansey, among others. Players will also be able to enter Pokemon at Showcases during this event.

Elsewhere, during this event, players will have the option to spend $9.99 on a Community Day Bundle on the Pokemon Go Web Store containing 120 Ultra Balls, 15 Silver Pinap Berries, six Incubators, and an Incense.

Players will also have the option to spend PokeCoins on two Community Day bundles in the in-game store during this event. One bundle will cost 1,350 PokeCoins and will contain 50 Ultra Balls, five Super Incubators, an Elite Charged TM, and five Lucky Eggs. The other bundle will cost 480 PokeCoins and will contain 30 Ultra Balls, an Incense, three Super Incubators, and a Lure Module.

Finally, Chansey will appear in Tier-4 Raids Battles from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. local time on February 4, 2024. When players defeat Chansey in one of these Raids, Chansey will appear around the Gym that hosted the Raid for 30 minutes. You can learn more about these Tier-4 Raids on the Pokemon Go website.
