Pokemon Go Ultra Unlock Part 3: Sword and Shield Timed Research Tasks Guide

Trainers, Pokemon Go’s Ultra Unlock Part 3: Sword and Shield event runs from August 20 at 10 a.m. local time until August 31 at 8 p.m. local time.

During this event, pocket monsters originally found in the Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield video games will appear in Pokemon Go for the first time. This includes Legendary Pokemon Zacian and Zamazenta. (To see everything that’s going on during this event, check out our previous coverage.)

As part of this event, players can complete a series of Timed Research tasks to receive in-game rewards.

According to Leek Duck, here’s what these tasks ask players to do, and the rewards they’ll receive for completing them.

Ultra Unlock 2021: Sword and Shield Part 1

• Send 5 Gifts to Friends – 5 Great Balls
• Catch 8 Pokemon – 5 Razz Berries
• Defeat 2 Team Go Rocket Grunts – An encounter with Pikachu

Final Rewards: 10 Poke Balls, 888 experience points, and 5 Ultra Balls

Ultra Unlock 2021: Sword and Shield Part 2

• Power Up Pokemon 5 Times – 10 Super Potions
• Catch 10 Pokemon – 5 Revives
• Battle in the Go Battle League – An encounter with Meowth

Final Rewards: 10 Ultra Balls and 888 experience points

Ultra Unlock 2021: Sword and Shield Part 3

• Evolve 2 Pokemon – 5 Pinap Berries
• Catch 5 Normal-Type Pokemon – An encounter with Galarian Meowth
• Defeat 4 Team Go Rocket Grunts – An encounter with Butterfree

Final Rewards: 15 Poke Balls, 888 experience points, and 5 Ultra Balls Ultra

Unlock 2021: Sword and Shield Part 4

• Use 10 Berries to Help Catch Pokemon – An encounter with Skwovet
• Catch 8 Different Species of Pokemon – An encounter with Galarian Farfetch’d
• Win a Raid – An encounter with Gengar

Final Rewards: 10 Great Balls, 888 experience points, and 5 Ultra Balls

Ultra Unlock 2021: Sword and Shield Part 5

• Earn 12 Hearts With Your Buddy – An encounter with Wooloo
• Catch 8 Different Species of Pokemon – An encounter with Galarian Stunfisk
• Win a Raid in Under 60 Seconds – An encounter with Snorlax

Final Rewards: 25 Poke Balls, 1 Rare Candy, and 5 Ultra Balls
