Here's your chance to earn some bonus experience points.
Trainers, it’s almost time for another Spotlight Hour event in Pokemon Go!
On September 22 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time, Spearow will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and you’ll receive two times the regular amount of experience points when you evolve Pokemon. This experience point bonus will apply to all Pokemon you evolve during this event, and not just Spearow.
Spearow is a Normal- and Flying-type Pokemon from the first generation of the Pokemon universe. You can evolve Spearow into Fearow using 50 Spearow Candy.
If you want to make the most of this event, remember that you can activate an Incense on your account, which will attract wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time. That way, you can participate in this event even if you don’t want to leave the house.
In addition, there’s an important thing to keep in mind about this week’s event: As of this writing, Shiny Spearow is not available in Pokemon Go. It is technically possible that Shiny Spearow could be a surprise addition to the game as part of this Spotlight Hour event, but there’s no guarantee that will happen, and we advise against getting your hopes up.
Either way, even if you’re not excited about this week’s Spotlight Hour event, there’s still one more of these events to look forward to in September. On September 29, Skitty will be the featured Pokemon, and you’ll receive two times the normal amount of Stardust when catching Pokemon.
