Players can collect extra experience points for a limited time.
The next Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event will take place on September 19, 2023 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time.
During this event, Girafarig will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will receive two times the normal number of experience points when catching Pokemon.
Girafarig is a Normal- and Psychic-type Pokemon from the second generation of the Pokemon universe. As of this writing, Girafarig’s evolution, Farigiraf, is not available in Pokemon Go.
Shiny Girafarig is available in Pokemon Go. Shiny Girafarig has a blue nose and blue accents on its back, while regular Girafarig has a pink nose and pink accents on its back.
To make the most of this week’s Spotlight Hour event, remember that you can activate an Incense to attract wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time. This will give you more Girafarig to encounter and more chances to potentially find a Shiny one.
You can also activate a Lucky Egg to double the number of experience points you receive for completing in-game actions for a limited time. This Lucky Egg bonus will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus, allowing you to earn lots of experience points for each Pokemon you capture during this event.
Following this week’s Spotlight Hour event, one more of these events is scheduled to take place in September 2023. During the Spotlight Hour event on September 26, 2023, Growlithe will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will receive two times the normal amount of Stardust when catching Pokemon.
