Earn rewards for encouraging others to play the game.
Pokemon Go players will soon have a new way to earn in-game rewards, as Niantic, the game’s developer, announced a referral program will be added to the free-to-play mobile game.
This referral program will encourage active Pokemon Go players to invite their friends to try the game, or to come back to the game if they’ve stopped playing. Each trainer will receive a referral code that they can share with friends when they encourage them to play the game.
If players successfully refer a player through this program, the referred player will receive rewards such as Pokemon encounters, Rare Candy, and Incubators (among others) when they reach certain in-game milestones. The player who referred them will also receive in-game rewards along the way.
In a news post, Niantic said this referral program will launch first in Australia, but it didn’t announce its exact release date. We’ll make sure to bring you more details about Pokemon Go’s referral program as they’re revealed.
