Get ready to earn lots of Stardust!
As we move closer to Halloween, lots of spooky Pokemon are being featured in Pokemon Go’s weekly Spotlight Hour events.
The next Spotlight Hour event will take place on October 12, 2021 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time.
During this event, Gastly will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and you’ll receive two times the normal amount of Stardust for catching Pokemon.
Gastly is a Ghost- and Poison-type Pokemon from the first generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Gastly into Haunter using 25 Gastly Candy, and then evolve Haunter into Gengar using 100 Gastly Candy. Haunter can also be evolved into Gengar without using Gastly Candy if Haunter has been traded.
Shiny Gastly is available in Pokemon Go. You can view normal Gastly and Shiny Gastly in the screenshots below.
To make the most of this week’s event, remember that you can activate an Incense to attract wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time. This will give you more Gastly to encounter and more chances to potentially find a Shiny one.
Plus, remember that you can activate a Star Piece in order to earn even more Stardust during this event. This Star Piece bonus will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus, allowing you to earn lots of Stardust for each pocket monster you capture during this time.
Following this week’s Spotlight Hour, there are still two more of these events scheduled to take place in October 2021. Gothita will be the featured Pokemon on October 19, while Murkrow will be featured on October 26.
