Players will have the chance to encounter lots of costumed Pokemon.
The new year is almost here, and Pokemon Go will be celebrating with a New Year’s 2024 event.
The Pokemon Go New Year’s 2024 event will run from January 1, 2024 at 10 a.m. local time until January 3, 2024 at 8 p.m. local time.
During this event, Jigglypuff wearing a ribbon, Hoothoot wearing a New Year’s outfit, and Darumaka will appear more frequently than normal in the wild. Bronzor will also have the chance to appear in the wild during this event, though the Pokemon Go website indicated it will be rarer than the other featured Pokemon.
A variety of Pokemon will appear in Raids during this event:
Two in-game bonuses will be active during this event:
Pichu wearing a party hat, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Togepi, Tyrogue, Smoochum, Elekid, Magby, Azurill, and Wynaut will have the chance to hatch from 7 km Eggs that are collected during this event.
Players will be able to complete event-themed Field Research tasks during this event to earn Stardust and encounters with Darumaka. Players may also receive encounters with Bronzor when they complete these event-themed Field Research tasks, though the Pokemon Go website indicated encounters with Bronzor will be rarer than the other featured rewards.
Players will have the option to spend $1 to access Timed Research tasks during this event that will reward them with Stardust, experience points, PokeCoins, and encounters with Jigglypuff wearing a ribbon, Hoothoot wearing a New Year’s outfit, and Wurmple wearing a party hat. Players will have the option to purchase this ticket for themselves, and they’ll also have the option to purchase the ticket for their in-game friends.
Finally, during this event, players will have the option to spend 99 PokeCoins on a New Year’s Box in the in-game store containing an Incubator and a Premium Battle Pass. Once this event begins, a Darumaka Hat avatar item will also become available to purchase in the in-game store. It will remain available in the store even after this event ends.
