Watch out for Shiny Voltorb!
We’re halfway through March 2021, and another Spotlight Hour event is just around the corner in Pokemon Go!
On March 16 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time, Voltorb will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and you’ll receive two times the normal amount of Stardust when catching Pokemon. The Stardust bonus will apply to every Pokemon you capture during this one-hour event, and not just Voltorb.
Voltorb is an Electric-type Pokemon from the first generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Voltorb into Electrode using 50 Voltorb Candy.
If you’re a Shiny Pokemon collector, keep in mind that Voltorb can be Shiny in Pokemon Go. Shiny Voltorb is blue and white, rather than red and white. While there’s no guarantee you’ll encounter Shiny Voltorb during this Spotlight Hour event, you will be able to check lots of Voltorb in a short amount of time.
To make the most of this event, remember to activate an Incense to attract more wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time. This will give you more Pokemon to capture, and therefore more chances to earn bonus Stardust. In addition, you can activate a Star Piece to earn 50 percent more Stardust for 30 minutes. The Star Piece will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus, giving you the chance to stock up on lots of Stardust in a short amount of time!
Following this week’s Spotlight Hour, there are still two more of these events scheduled to take place in March. On March 23, Surskit will be the featured Pokemon, while Slugma will be in the spotlight on March 30.
