Receive bonus Pokemon Candy for a limited time.
Trainers, the final Spotlight Hour event for January 2021 will take place in Pokemon Go on January 26.
From 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time on January 26, Phanpy will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and you’ll receive two times the normal number of Pokemon Candy when you transfer Pokemon to Professor Willow. This means you’ll receive two Candy for each Pokemon you transfer, rather than one.
Phanpy is a Ground-type Pokemon from the second Generation of the Pokemon universe. It has a single evolution. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Phanpy into Donphan using 50 Phanpy Candy.
Unfortunately, Shiny Phanpy isn’t available in Pokemon Go as of this writing.
If you want to make the most of this week’s event, remember to hold onto any unwanted Pokemon you may capture on Tuesday, and transfer them during Spotlight Hour to receive the bonus Candy. You can also activate an Incense during this Spotlight Hour event to attract more Pokemon to your location for a limited time, which will allow you to earn even more Candy, even if you don’t leave the house.
