Two Pokemon will be featured during this event.
The next Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event will take place on February 27, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time.
During this event, Sandshrew and Alolan Sandshrew will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will receive two times the normal number of Pokemon Candy when transferring Pokemon. There will also be an increased chance to receive Rare Candy XL when transferring Pokemon during this event.
Sandshrew is a Ground-type Pokemon from the first generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Sandshrew into Sandslash using 50 Sandshrew Candy.
Alolan Sandshrew is an Ice- and Steel-type Pokemon from the Alola region of the Pokemon universe. Alolan Sandshrew can be evolved into Alolan Sandslash using 50 Sandshrew Candy.
Shiny Sandshrew is available in Pokemon Go. Shiny Sandshrew is green, rather than yellow.
Shiny Alolan Sandshrew is also available in Pokemon Go. Shiny Alolan Sandshrew has a blue belly, rather than a cream belly.
To make the most of this week’s Spotlight Hour event, remember that you can activate an Incense to attract wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time. This will give you more Sandshrew and Alolan Sandshrew to encounter, and therefore more chances to find Shiny versions of these Pokemon.
