This week's event features a unique Pokemon.
Trainers, there are still two more Spotlight Hour events to look forward to in Pokemon Go in December 2020. The first takes place on December 22 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time!
During this time, Snorunt will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and you’ll receive two times the normal number of experience points when transferring Pokemon to Professor Willow.
Snorunt is an Ice-type Pokemon from Generation III of the Pokemon universe. It has a unique evolutionary line, since it can be evolved into one of two different Pokemon — Glailie or Froslass — with this process being affected by Snorunt’s gender.
That is, if Snorunt is male, it can only be evolved into Glalie. But if Snorunt is female, you can choose whether to evolve it into Glalie or Froslass. To learn more about evolving Snorunt, check out our guide.
Finally, keep in mind that Shiny Snorunt does exist in Pokemon Go, so this event will give you an increased chance of encountering one (since you’ll be able to check so many Snorunt in a short amount of time).
To make the most of this event, remember to activate an Incense to attract more wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time.
Following this week’s Spotlight Hour, the final Spotlight Hour event for December 2020 will take place on December 29. During this final event, Snover will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and you’ll receive two times the normal number of experience points when evolving Pokemon.
