A spooky event is coming just in time for Halloween.
A new type of event will be introduced in Pokemon Go as part of the game’s Halloween festivities.
The Catch Mastery: Ghost event will be held on October 25 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time.
During this time, Drifloon will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and you’ll be able to complete exclusive Timed Research tasks that will only be available during this event.
In addition, during this Catch Mastery event, you’ll be able to complete event-themed Field Research tasks that reward you with encounters with Ghost-type Pokemon and Gengar Mega Energy.
Finally, you’ll earn two times the normal amount of experience points when you catch Pokemon using Nice, Great, or Excellent Throws, as well as Curveball Throws. This experience point bonus will apply to every Pokemon you capture during this Catch Mastery event, and not just Drifloon.
It’s worth pointing out that while this event is taking place right around Halloween, it is not the game’s main Halloween event. It’s simply an activity trainers can take part in if they’re interested. Also keep in mind that the Shiny version of Drifloon is available to encounter in Pokemon Go, so this event will give you an increased chance of adding one to your collection.
