As spotted by Serebii.net, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, revealed details about an “Astral Eclipse” event that’s coming to Pokemon Go.
Pokemon Go’s Astral Eclipse event will run from November 23, 2022 at 10 a.m. local time until November 28, 2022 at 8 p.m. local time.
Once this event begins, Solgaleo and Lunala will become available to collect in Pokemon Go. Players will be able to evolve Cosmoem into Solgaleo during the day using 100 Cosmog Candy, or evolve Cosmoem into Lunala at night using 100 Cosmog Candy.
In addition, once this event begins, new Special Research tasks will become available in the “A Cosmic Companion” storyline.
During this Astral Eclipse event, Alolan Rattata, Alolan Sandshrew, Clefairy, Alolan Vulpix, Staryu, Hoothoot, Sunkern, Lunatone, Solrock, Munna, Cottonee, Petilil, and Yungoos will appear more frequently than normal in the wild.
A variety of Pokemon will be available to challenge in Raids during this event:
Players will be able to complete Collection Challenges during this event to earn Stardust. Players will also be able to complete event-themed Field Research tasks during this event to earn encounters with Staryu.
Finally, once this event begins, five new avatar items will become available to purchase in the in-game shop, and they’ll still be available to purchase after this event ends. Here are the items:
