Unlock additional features by purchasing an Explorer Pass.
This spring, Pokemon Go will host a Safari Zone event in Liverpool, England. The event will take place from April 17 to April 19 in Liverpool’s Sefton Park, and it will give attendees the chance to encounter Pokemon such as Krabby, Dratini, Chinchou, Unown V, Oshawott, and Relicanth in the wild.
Tickets for the event go on sale on February 14 at 8 a.m. GMT. Regular tickets will cost £12, while Early Access tickets will be priced at £18.
As with previous real-world events, even if players want to attend the Liverpool Safari Zone event on multiple days, each trainer can only purchase tickets (for themselves and up to three friends) for a single day (this ensures more individual players can get in on the fun).
However, unlike past events, Niantic, Pokemon Go’s developer, is also debuting a second, optional ticket that Safari Zone attendees can purchase to unlock additional gameplay experiences and bonuses in other areas of Liverpool.
The City Explorer Pass will cost £8 per trainer, and it must be purchased at the same time as a regular Safari Zone ticket. To be especially clear, if you purchase a Safari Zone ticket and then later decide you want to buy the City Explorer Pass, it will be too late — you must purchase both the ticket and the pass at the same time.
Players who purchase the City Explorer Pass will be able to access 10 City Explorer Raids around Liverpool that have a 72-hour timer. These Raids will be active throughout the entire Safari Zone event, so players who purchase the City Explorer Pass won’t have to rush to get to them.
Trainers who purchase the City Explorer Pass will also have access to exclusive Field Research tasks, and they’ll be able to hatch Eggs after walking half of the normal required distance, so long as they place each Egg into an Incubator while they’re in the city of Liverpool.
Finally, if these trainers place a normal Lure Module onto a PokeStop within Liverpool during this event, it will remain active for four hours, rather than the standard 30 minutes (all players will be able to see its effects). Plus, if they activate an Incense during the three-day event, it will remain active for longer than normal while they’re in Liverpool.
