New Pokemon are coming to the free-to-play mobile game.
Update (06/05/2022): As spotted by Serebii.net, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, revealed the Ultra Unlock bonuses that will be applied to this event. In addition to everything listed in our original post below, the following features will be in effect during the 2022 Adventure Week event:
In addition, a mini “Research Day” event will take place on June 12, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. local time. During this event, players will be able to collect “Limited Research” tasks by spinning the Photo Discs at PokeStops. Players can complete these tasks to receive encounters with Cranidos and Shieldon. There will be an increased chance of finding Shiny Cranidos and Shiny Shieldon during this Research Day event.
During the Research Day event, Diglett, Alolan Diglett, Geodude, Alolan Geodude, Onix, Rhyhorn, Sudowoodo, Aron, and Dwebble will have the chance to appear in the wild.
Lastly, Amaura and Tyrunt will appear more frequently than normal in the wild during alternating hours of this Research Day event. Specifically, Amaura will appear more frequently than normal in the wild from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. local time and from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. local time on June 12, 2022. Tyrunt will appear more frequently than normal in the wild from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. local time and from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. local time on June 12, 2022.
Original Story:
As spotted by Serebii.net, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, revealed details about the 2022 Adventure Week event that’s coming soon to Pokemon Go.
The 2022 Adventure Week event will run from June 7, 2022 at 10 a.m. local time until June 12, 2022 at 8 p.m. local time.
While Niantic revealed the basic details about this Adventure Week event, there’s the chance the event could be “upgraded” before it takes place.
Specifically, if the community completes “at least” 20 Global Challenges during the global Pokemon Go Fest 2022 event that takes place on June 4-5, 2022, they’ll unlock Ultra Unlock bonuses that will apply to this Adventure Week event. (You can learn more about Pokemon Go Fest 2022’s Ultra Unlocks in our previous coverage.)
Here’s what we know about the 2022 Adventure Week event as of May 31, 2022. If players unlock the event’s Ultra Unlock bonuses during Pokemon Go Fest 2022, we’ll make sure to update this space with information about any changes that are made to the event.
During the 2022 Adventure Week event, Rhyhorn, Omanyte, Kabuto, Larvitar, Aron, Lileep, Anorith, Cranidos, and Shieldon will have the chance to appear in the wild. Graveler, Aerodactyl, and Pupitar will also have the chance to appear in the wild during this event, though the Pokemon Go website indicated they’ll be rarer than the other Pokemon that will have the chance to appear in the wild during this event.
Once this event begins, Amaura and Tyrunt will become available to collect in Pokemon Go.
Players will receive two times the normal number of experience points when they spin the Photo Disc at PhotoStops during this event. Plus, players will receive five times the normal number of bonus experience points when they spin the Photo Disc at a PokeStop for the first time during this event.
A variety of Pokemon will appear in Raids during this event:
Next, players will have the chance to hatch Shuckle, Slugma, Cranidos, Shieldon, Tirtouga, Archen, Tyrunt, and Amaura from 7km Eggs that are collected during this event.
Finally, players will be able to complete event-themed Field Research tasks during this event to receive encounters with Omanyte, Kabuto, Aerodactyl, Lileep, Anorith, Cranidos, Shieldon, Tirtouga, Archen, Tyrunt, and Amaura.
