Trainers can become the owner of their very own Pokemon cafe.
In this week’s Pokemon Presents video presentation, The Pokemon Company announced Pokemon Cafe Mix, a free-to-play game for Switch and mobile devices that will allow players to build their own cafe where they’ll work alongside and serve Pokemon.
In Pokemon Cafe Mix, you’ll become the owner of a Pokemon cafe, and you’ll be asked to complete puzzle levels to serve Pokemon adorable food and drinks.
In each level, you’re presented with an assortment of Pokemon symbols on a game board. You can tap and drag your finger across matching symbols to create a chain, and then remove your finger to clear them from the screen.
As you interact with Pokemon customers and make friends with them, you’ll have the chance to recruit them as staff members for your cafe. Each one will have a special “Café Skill” that you can use to help you finish future levels.
Over time, you’ll be able to upgrade your cafe by making it larger and installing new tools. When you do, this may cause new kinds of Pokemon to visit your restaurant.
Pokemon Cafe Mix will be free to download and play on Switch, as well as on iOS and Android devices. You can pre-order the game now on all three platforms. The game is rated 4+ on iOS and E for Everyone on Switch and Android. It will contain optional in-app purchases.
While The Pokemon Company didn’t announce a specific release date for Pokemon Cafe Mix, the game’s Switch listing says it will be available on June 23, while the iOS App Store says it’s “Expected June 25, 2020.”
