Here’s what you need to know about this new subscription service.
Minecraft players have a new way to try premium user-created content from the Minecraft Marketplace thanks to the “Marketplace Pass” subscription service.
Here’s what you need to know about Minecraft’s Marketplace Pass.
The Marketplace Pass is a monthly subscription service that gives subscribers access to more than 150 pieces of content from the Minecraft Marketplace each month. This content may include skin packs, new worlds, texture packs, and more. The content available through the Marketplace Pass catalog will change on a monthly basis.
Subscribers will also receive “a new set of time-limited Character Creator items each month,” with these items being theirs to keep forever, even if they cancel their Marketplace Pass subscription in the future.
Marketplace Pass content can only be accessed through Minecraft: Bedrock Edition. This means the content can’t be accessed in Minecraft: Java Edition.
The Minecraft website provides more details:
“[Y]ou can access all the packs [in the Marketplace Pass catalog] from any device with a compatible version of Minecraft: Bedrock Edition with Minecraft Marketplace (sold separately) if you’re signed into your Minecraft account.”
Minecraft’s Marketplace Pass is priced at $3.99 per month. New subscribers will receive a free 30-day trial.
The Marketplace Pass is also included at no additional cost with a Realms Plus subscription. You can learn more about the Minecraft Realms Plus subscription in our guide to the service.
Players must already own Minecraft: Bedrock Edition to access the content in the Marketplace Pass. Minecraft: Bedrock Edition can be purchased for $29.99 on Switch, $19.99 on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and $29.99 on PC. The game is also available on Xbox consoles and PC through a Game Pass subscription. Minecraft can also be purchased on iOS, Android, and Amazon devices for $6.99.
The Minecraft Help Center provides more details about accessing Marketplace Pass content on Amazon devices:
“If you are playing Minecraft through an Amazon device, you will not be able to sign up for Marketplace Pass. However, if you have signed up for the service on a different platform, you can access your Marketplace Pass content on your Amazon device.”
