Microsoft Stores Now Offer Badge Workshops for Girl Scouts in the U.S.

Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, and Cadettes can earn five STEM-themed badges through free workshops.
Microsoft and Girl Scouts of the USA are bringing free badge workshops to all Microsoft Stores in the U.S., which will allow Girl Scouts at various levels to earn five badges across four STEM-themed areas: robotics, computer expertise, digital photography, and movie-making.
Troop leaders can arrange a private workshop for their group(s) by visiting Microsoft’s website and following the directions to send an email to the store of their choosing.
As part of this partnership, a series of alumni skill building workshops will also be available starting on November 1. These workshops will include “Fundamentals of Office,” “LinkedIn Series,” “Resume Building,” “Jump-Start Your Job Search,” “Start Your Own Business,” “Productivity Hacks” and “OneNote Series.”
Finally, starting in 2020, Microsoft Stores will host an event each quarter that highlights prominent women in STEM who are also Girl Scouts alumni.
In a blog post, Microsoft’s Vanessa Ho commented on Microsoft’s partnership with Girls Scouts of the USA:
"The partnership aims to give girls vital digital skills and foster leadership qualities to help close the gender gap in STEM fields."
