October's Pokemon Go Community Day Starring Beldum is This Weekend
Watch out for new Gen 4 Pokemon while you're playing.
Maybe it’s just us, but it seems like the last Pokemon Go Community Day was a while ago. Thankfully, we’ll be able to get back out on the hunt this weekend, as October’s Pokemon Go Community Day will take place Sunday, October 21, from 2 p.m. ET to 5 p.m. ET.
During this time, players will be able to encounter more Beldum than normal as they play. Depending on where players live, Beldum may otherwise be a pretty rare creature (I’ve only collected two, ever). Add in the likelihood that shiny Beldum will also start appearing during the event, and we have an incredibly exciting weekend ahead of us.
Beldum is a Steel- and Psychic-type Pokemon with two evolutions: Metang and Metagross. It’s part of the third generation of the Pokemon universe, which debuted in the Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire video games on Game Boy Advance in 2003 in North America.
Every Metang that’s evolved into Metagross during this weekend’s Community Day event will learn an exclusive battle move called Meteor Mash. In addition, Lure Modules will last for three hours if they’re activated during the event window, rather than the standard 30 minutes.
Finally, eggs will hatch in a quarter of the normal time if they’re place into an incubator during this event. That means a 10 km egg will hatch after walking just 2.5 km (when in a normal Incubator).
Keep in mind, Pokemon Go recently added the first wave of Gen 4 Pokemon (those originally seen in the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Nintendo DS games from 2006). This gives us extra critters to capture as we’re tracking down Beldum this Sunday.
