The game will support two-player cooperative gameplay.

In fall 2021, Nintendo revealed Kirby and the Forgotten Land, a new 3D platformer in the popular Kirby franchise. At the time, Nintendo said the game would be released in “Spring 2022,” but now, we know the official release date.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land will be released on Nintendo Switch on March 25, 2022.

In Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Kirby will travel to an unfamiliar land where he’ll discover that Waddle Dees are being abducted by a group called the Beast Pack. Kirby will set out on a quest to rescue the Waddle Dees and defeat the Beast Pack.

Kirby will be able to copy the abilities of enemies in the game, which will allow players to defeat baddies in a variety of ways. For instance, the “Sword” ability will give Kirby a sword he can use to attack enemies.

Two new abilities will also be introduced in the game: Drill and Ranger. The Drill ability will allow Kirby to dive underground and attack enemies from below, while the Ranger ability will allow players to target enemies that are at a distance.

While players will be able to complete this adventure on their own, the game will also support two-player cooperative gameplay for two people in the same room. When playing as a team, one player will control Kirby while the other will control Bandana Waddle Dee, who can attack enemies using a spear.

Between the game’s stages, players will be able to explore Waddle Dee Town, the game’s central hub. Here, players can visit shops, play mini-games, and work at the Waddle Dee Café. According to a Nintendo press release, Waddle Dee Town will “develop more and more based on the number of Waddle Dees you rescue as you progress.”

Finally, the game will allow players to connect to the internet to view how many Waddle Dee have been rescued around the world and the game’s most popular copy ability at the time. Players will need a Nintendo Switch Online membership to access the game’s online features.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land will be released on March 25, 2022 for $59.99. The game is now available to pre-order.
