The educational experience for players of all ages can also be purchased a standalone title.

Ubisoft announced the release of its newest Discovery Tour experience called Discovery Tour: Viking Age.

Inspired by the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla video game, Discover Tour: Viking Age was designed to teach players of all ages about Viking and Anglo-Saxon culture in the 9th century. While Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is a Mature-rated game that’s only appropriate for adults due to its violent content, Discovery Tour: Viking Age is an educational experience that doesn’t feature conflict or violence.

Discovery Tour: Viking Age will allow players to complete a new storyline containing eight quests, which will see them become different Viking and Anglo-Saxon characters. The game will take players to different regions, including Norway, England, Jotunheim, and Asgard.

The game also features a series of discovery sites focused on different topics related to the Viking Age, including “War & Politics,” “Daily Life,” “Religion & Magic,” “Myths & Legends,” “Science,” “Law & Justice,” “Art & Culture,” and “Trade & Economy.”

Finally, Discovery Tour: Viking Age will allow players to unlock 11 exclusive rewards in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Keep in mind, Assassin's Creed Valhalla is rated M for Mature by the ESRB, which means it's not appropriate for kids.

Discovery Tour: Viking Age is now available as a free add-on for owners of the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla video game on PC. It can also be purchased as a standalone game on PC for $19.99. The game will be released as a standalone title on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Stadia, and Amazon Luna in 2022.

Discovery Tour: Viking Age is the third installment in Ubisoft’s Discovery Tour series. Previous experiences were focused on Ancient Egypt and Ancient Greece. In order to help teachers bring these experiences into their classrooms, Ubisoft has released a beta version of its Discovery Tour: Ancient Greece curriculum guide, which features activities and plans designed for different areas of study and age levels.
